Reliable Energy Weatherization Program

No-Cost Weatherization

The southern California Gas Company and local community agencies want to help you save on your gas bills and repair or replace faulty gas appliances. If you qualify (and are eligible under the income guidelines) trained workers from your local contractor will install the following home weatherization improvements at no cost to you:

Attic insulation

Weather-stripping/caulking

Water heater insulation blanket

Low flow showerheads

Minor repairs to your home or rental unit that will make it more energy efficient.

Other energy saving measures as needed

Furnace repair or replacement (owner occupied only)

  To qualify, you must meet the following requirements:

  You are a customer of the Southern California Gas Company

The specific home weatherization improvements are cost-effective.

Your total annual income should be under (see below).

Trained program installers for your local agency will contact you to see if you qualify. If you do, you will receive weatherization improvements to your home at no cost to you, according to the program standards.

  Thank you for participating in the Energy Weatherization Program. We will be providing your home with the best possible energy efficient measures. The devices and materials installed will provide year round comfort and save you $$$ on your utility bills.

ATTIC INSULATION: Loosefill cellulose insulation can be installed in your attic to resist heat loss through the ceiling.

DOOR WEATHER-STRIPPING: Installation of rigid gasket weather-stripping around doors will help prevent heat loss and cold drafts from blowing in through the bottom and sides of doors (Door shaving is required to install a door shoe).

LOW FLOW SHOWERHEAD: Has  the capacity for a  comfortable shower and at the same time uses less water. This will help lower your gas and water bills.

WATER-HEATER BLANKET: An insulation blanket can be wrapped around the water heater to keep the water warmer in the tank for a longer period of time.

 GLAZING: Replacing of boken windows will seal and prevent air infiltration and heat loss.

 FAUCET AERATORS: Water saving devices that reduce the water flow from all interior faucets.

SWITCH & OUTLET GASKETS: foam insulators to reduce air infiltration.

ATTIC VENTING: Attic venting is necessary for air exchange in the attic. (Only when attic insulation performed)

MINOR HOME REPAIR: Repairs are necessary for the effective performance of weatherization materials.

FURNACE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT: Will repair or install a space heater. (This service is limited to owner occupied single homes only).
